Welcome to Nursery

At St Matthew’s Nursery we believe childhood is a magical time.  The nursery is designed to feel like a home away from home for children and their families and is a place where parents can feel confident that their children are receiving the very best care and education. We strive for excellence in our approach to education which influences the children’s daily life and prepares them for school. We encourage them to become independent learners and their interests will be developed and nurtured.

We value and strive to build a relationship up between school and home, and we therefore have many forms of communication. You will receive letters, texts, and class dojo notifications. We are also always available before or after school if you need to discuss your child.

As your child begins their educational journey with us, we will do lots of observations and will build up a portfolio of your child which we call a ‘learning journey’. In this there will be photos, observations, pictures and you will also be encouraged to contribute towards it.

We have nursery places for children who have turned 3 last August. We offer 15 hours free, either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons. If your child has turned 3 after August, we will take them the term after their third birthday.  If you would like a place, please contact the school office on 01772 794482.

You are welcome to arrange a visit to see Nursery in Action.
