Our School Uniform.

All children from Foundation Stage to Year 6 are expected to wear school uniform, we want this to be an outward expression of pride at being a member of the St Matthew's school family.

Our uniform has been chosen so that it is reasonably inexpensive to buy and easy to obtain; we are extremely mindful of the cost of uniform.  The only item we ask to have the school logo on is the school jumper  / cardigan and are available from one of the two suppliers listed at the bottom of the page. All other items can be sourced from wherever parents are able to.

We want our children to look smart and to wear their uniform with pride. A high standard of appearance is usually an indication of good discipline, self-awareness and responsibility. These are points which we believe it is important to emphasise to our children.

  • A red school jumper or cardigan with the school logo
  • Grey or black trousers
  • Grey skirt or pinafore dress with grey or black tights or white or grey socks
  • Black school shoes
  • White shirt/ polo shirt
  • Hijabs (if worn) plain black, just below shoulders and no decoration

For safety reasons, only stud earrings to be worn (only if children are able to remove them by themselves) no necklaces or bracelets.
