Catch-up Premium Plan
Although it is now over four years since we first went into lockdown, we keep this information as a reminder of the challenges of those times and how we worked together locally and nationally to get back to something approaching 'normal'.
The Government has announced that £1 billion of funding has been earmarked for schools to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time due to Covid-19.
Although all children have had their education disrupted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Government have acknowledged that it is likely that disadvantaged and vulnerable groups will have been hardest hit. Each schools allocations will be calculated on a per pupil basis, providing each mainstream school with a total of £80 for each pupil in years’ reception through to 11. This plan set out our intentions for the use of this money and runs through the academic year Autumn 2020 –Summer 2021. Our Governors regularly scrutinise the schools approach to catch-up from September 2020, and this will be reviewed each term by our Governors and Senior Leaders.
