Truthfulness will set you free.
If Jasmine had given in the money to the police, she may have got a reward so that she could buy the bag anyway without feeling guilty. Her parents may also have bought her the new bag as she was honest.

Being truthful is the true way to success. You never know what happens so the truth can help to fix problems for everyone.
