In our worship this week we are continuing to focus on our school value of compassion and to consider what the word means and how we can show it to others.
Our Bible story is from the New Testament and it is one of the parables that Jesus told all about the kindness of a stranger...

Our ideas to show compassion:
- Invite people to play with you.
-Holding the door for someone
-Sharing
-Help them if they are struggling.
-Guiding those who need it.

In 6S we are going to show compassion by:
- asking others to join in our games
- donate to those in need
- offer to lend a hand
- smile and comfort people who are upset
- treat people how we would want to be treated
-offer a listening ear
-set aside our differences to help others who need it

How we show compassion towards others:
1. Show respect.
2. If someone is alone then go and be with them.
3. Donate to charity for those in need.
4. Make someone's day by smiling at them.
5. Give hugs.

Thank you for the worship and for the focus on being a good neighbour and showing compassion to others. We had several ideas about how we might do this. For example:
- showing respect
- treat others how you want to be treated
- give to charity
- smile
- helping someone when they are struggling
- waiting and listening to someone
- holding the door for someone
- help those who we don't get along with
- care for one another
We hope we can follow Jesus' example and help the world to be a more compassionate place.

3C discussed ways we can show compassion on a daily basis. These include:
-helping others when they hurt themselves
-smiling at somebody if they're sad
-including others if they are on their own
-helping others if they are finding their learning hard

We have spoken about showing and sharing our compassion. Here are some of our ideas:
- If someone is sad, try and give a smile.
- When someone is hurt, help them.
- If you see something wrong, try and fix it.
Compassion for God's creation:
-Recycle
-Fairtrade only!
- Give/Donate to charity.
- Giving time - volunteering.
-Cleaning the ocean and stopping pollution.
-Buying/purchasing sustainable products, not single use plastic.
- Stopping deforestation!
-Replanting trees.
Political compassion:
- Protests for Palestine
- Donations for Ukraine
- Further donations to countries struggling
-Praying and supporting these people
- Writing to Boris Johnson about the refugees and asylum seekers who were nearly taken to Rwanda
In our local area -
Help homeless people
Improvingn our area - litter picking and helping the squirrels on our park.
We can use ourselves and our compassion to change the world!

Wow, great comments and ideas! I am delighted to see such a variety of ideas about how we show compassion, some I hadn't thought of. You have really shown that you have listened to the challenge of showing compassion to all, not just the 'easy' ones.

How we can show compassion:
-helping the poor
