Hello again everybody, I cannot believe it has been around two weeks since my last post and so much has happened in that time!
Thank you to everybody who is following the advice and staying home wherever possible; we are open each for the small number of children who are categorised by the Government as needing to be in school and I am very grateful to the staff for all they are doing in trying to keep in touch with you and provide suggested activities for the children.
There are lots of different websites offering a range of things to do; we have been asked by some parents if we can provide work packs instead of the online resources but with 400+ children and social distancing restrictions this is not a practical proposition for us. We would encourage you to use this time for the children to explore ways to occupy themselves such as playing games together, creating indoor dens, maybe learning how to cook (under adult supervision!) and so on. I am sure that you have lots of creative ideas that you are putting into place.
For those with easy access to the internet, the Department for Education have put together some online resources which can be accessed here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-online-education-resources/coronavirus-covid-19-list-of-online-education-resources-for-home-education#english
Blackburn Diocese have also put together some ideas for helping to think and discuss some interesting topics which can be accessed here https://www.bdeducation.org.uk/schools/teacher/collective-worship/offtheshelfreresources/
Finally, a great group called Fischy Music (they write great school songs) are doing a weekly act of worship on a Monday at 11am which can be found by following this link http://www.youtube.com/fischymusic
Stay safe, keep following the guidance and I really hope to see you all back here as soon as we are allowed.
God bless,
M Mackley

Hello Sadaf and thank you for your comment. Unfortunately we are not able to lend books at the moment, I will contact the Early Years staff to see if they can recommend some websites for you.
Kind regards,
Mr Mackley

Thankyou for continuing with your blog and keeping us updated. A good website I’ve found for home learning resources if anyone is interested is www.twinkl.co.uk :-)
