Hello again everyone, in response to questions that have come from some people, I am giving a further update on our plans for a wider opening of school.

In my last blog post I indicated that we were working towards a possible date of 8th June; we are now looking at the possibility of week beginning the 15th June.

It is going to take more time than we anticipated to be able to put in place the measures outlined in the guidance from the Government.

We are working on a plan to try and welcome children from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 back into school as long as we can get the very strict measures into place and secure the necessary resources we require to be able to do this.

There is currently no plan to bring Year 6 back into school nor to open up school fully to all year groups before the end of the summer term. We are hoping to be able to find a way to meet with our Year 6 pupils before the end of the term if possible, but at this stage we cannot guarantee that will happen.

If there is a change of national policy regarding the wider opening of schools, backed by the science and does not compromise on safety, we will then look to plan for an even wider opening of school to pupils.

If we are able to go ahead with the 15th June, then we will have to close for a few days in the week before in order to get everything ready. Once we have a clear picture we will let you know.

As with your good selves, we are responding to an ever changing national picture and doing our best to do what we can.  We do understand that this must be very frustrating for you all and we do appreciate your continued patience and support as we do our best to try and get back to some form of normality.

If you want to discuss this, please do leave a comment below and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

As always, stay safe.
