You shouldn't judge a book by the cover.... We have been also exploring assumptions in PSHE and how people can make false assumptions. People have done this to us based on our religion, skin colour, our age and our gender. Even though we are only Year 5s, we can do great things as part of God's plan :)

The song was very entertaining and we enjoyed the story of David being chosen for his heart. That no matter how small you are you can still be of use to God.
It reminded Mr Ward of Captain America. How he was chosen for his heart and goodness!

Wonderful comments, thank you! 5R you are so right, it doesn't matter how young you are, God can do great things through you as he proved with David!
6W, you too are absolutely correct! Mr Ward and I are both big Marvel fans and I agree about Captain America, they took someone that no one would have thought could be so great but they saw the goodness in him and that he would always work for good.

Children in class explained how it is important that we don't judge people before we get to know them and know what they're like on the inside. We can't judge people as we don't always know what they've been through.

We had a little discussion about the saying 'Don't judge a book by its cover' and this is what we thought:
-We don't always know everything about everyone.
-Don't have an opinion about others before getting to know them.
-Everyone can have a good heart, it doesn't matter what they look like.
-It's what is on the inside that counts.
-We should not guess people's personalities.
-Wait and see before making any judgments.
