A very Happy New Year to everyone!
I think that I have managed to sort out how to write blogs so hopefully you should be seeing a few more in the future.
This post is to let you know a bit about our Vision Statement that we have worked on as a staff and with the children. On our home page you can both our Mission Statement and our Vision Statement which outline what we see as our purpose as a school.
For the Vision Statement we wanted to think about what our core purpose as a school is and link that to a passage from the Bible. We agreed as a staff that Jesus' famous 'Sermon on the Mount' or The Beatitudes sums up our approach here; Jesus essentially outlined that everyone is blessed, doesn't matter who you are or whether you feel downtrodden. We summed up what we want for the children of our school in the following phrase "Be blessed by God, be happy and aspire to be..."
I could write a lot more but if you would like to find out what some of the children think about this, you are warmly invited to come along to school next Tuesday afternoon, 14th January at 2:30 pm to learn more! There will be tea and coffee (& biscuits at the children's request!) and a chance to here from the children and myself more about our vision and what it means for your children. Please do come along if you can!
